What If 10x Is Actually Easier? Rethinking Growth from Dan Sullivan’s Mindset Shift

“10x is easier than 2x” — sounds like a marketing trick, right? That’s exactly what I thought at first. Until I started reading the book by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy.

Instead of telling you to hustle harder, this book teaches something radically different:
✅ 2x growth usually means doing more of the same, just faster or longer.
✅ 10x growth requires you to change your thinking, eliminate noise, and focus on what really matters.

It challenged me to let go of tasks I was doing just because I’ve always done them. And that’s hard! Especially when you’re used to saying yes to everything. But here’s what I’ve learned: when you free yourself from the “busy” work, you create space for the important work.

Here are three key shifts I made after reading this book:

  1. Delegate with intention. I stopped micromanaging and started trusting my team more. That alone gave me hours back every week.
  2. Focus on my “unique ability.” Dan says we all have something we’re uniquely great at. For me, it’s teaching, mentoring, and empowering others. That’s where I now spend most of my time.
  3. Say no with peace. I now ask, “Will this contribute to my 10x vision?” before committing to anything.

Growth isn’t just about doing more. It’s about doing better — with clarity and courage.

Reflection Prompt:
👉 If you had to grow 10x next year, what are the top 3 things you’d stop doing today?
