8 things that helped me make my First Million at Age 23. DON’T MISS NUMBER 7!

A lot of people dream about having their First Million, but only a few take action to make it happen as soon as possible.

In my picture below, you can see na feel na feel ko ang posing ko kahit hindi naman ako marunong mag ballet. But because nasa Trick Eye Museum ako at gusto kong magpa-picture dyan, I have to act “as if” marunong ako. All I have to do was to copy what a ballet dancer does at wag isipin what other people will say (yung mga nakatingin sakin habang pinipicturan ako).

Just like in life, if you want to be successful, copy the habits of successful people. If you want to lose weight and be healthy, choose a role model who has the dream body that you want and copy what they’re doing. If you want to have a harmonious relationship with the people around you, ask those people who have a great relationship with their loved ones and friends, and apply it in your inner circle. And if you want to make your First Million, all you have to do is to copy the things that are effective for those people who already made their First Million and apply it in your life.

Don’t ask for advice from people who don’t possess the life, the body, the relationship or the income that you want.

As Tony Robbins said, “If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results that you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results.”

If you are 23 years old right now and below, start applying what I’m going to share para ma-enjoy mo ang mas masarap na lifestyle na di mo pa nae-experience before habang mas bata ka pa. And if you are 24 years old and above, and you haven’t earned/made your First Million, I challenge you to take action NOW!

Assuming you already have a healthy body and loving relationships, kailan mo pa ba gustong ma-experience or mapa-experience sa family mo ang masaganang buhay, kapag 40, 50 or 60 years old ka na? or as soon as possible?

We need YOU. We need more Young Millionaires to inspire more people to take action because all of us deserve a better life. We need you to start working on yourself so that you can easily help more people (because we cannot give what we don’t have).

Are you ready to make your First Million?

Let me share with you 8 things that helped me make my First Million at age 23 and how you can do it too even if you’re not 23.

1) Think BIG

Way back 2012 after my graduation, mga May or June, I went to a company in Mandaluyong to take an exam if papasa ako for a certain job. After passing the exam in the morning, derecho na ko for an interview with HR after lunch. I will always remember this specific incident that brought me to where I am today. Like the usual interview, she asked how much is my asking salary that time. No holding back, I answered, “P20,000”. Very confident ako na I can deliver the output that they want. Sabi ko nga, kung naging employee ako, I will be their best employee. Aside from that, naisip ko din nun na plus factor for me na Industrial Engineer ako, Cum Laude. More than the recognition, talagang dumaan ako sa butas ng karayom maka-graduate lang on time by passing yung mahihirap naming major subjects and most especially yung Feasibility Study namin at IE Research na normally nag-ko-cause ng delays sa graduation ng lahat sa course namin. Kaya I believe I deserve that salary.

A day after, I received an email from this company saying na parang hindi nila kayang ibigay yung asking salary ko. So ako naman, wala lang ito for me kasi hindi naman ako nagmamadaling makahanap nun ng trabaho since hindi naman ako breadwinner and alam kong merong company who is willing to give yung hinihingi ko.

Fast forward, during that time, pasama-sama lang ako kay Kuya kasi ayoko pa magwork dahil gusto ko muna magpahinga after studying for 5 years in college. From there, I earned P15,000 in 2 days. Eye opener yun for me. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, “What if magsisipag ako and gagawin ko lang ang dapat kong gawin, eh di I will earn P15,000 every 2 days? Wow!” Malaki yang amount of money na yan for someone who’s turning 22 years old tapos hindi pa breadwinner katulad ko. So kaya pala sa sales.

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

Set your big GOAL (your dream income every month). Write a DEADLINE. And create ACTION PLANS to make it happen including the VEHICLE that you are going to use to achieve your goal.

For example:

For me, ang una kong vehicle na sinubukan to earn my dream income was networking. Nung hindi na siya gusto dahil hindi match sa akin, I tried selling iPhone and iPad cases tapos ipopost ko sa Facebook. Napagod ako dyan tapos maliit kita. Kaya sinubukan ko naman pumasok sa DRIVEN Marketing Group as a Real Estate Sales Professional last September 2012 kasi naniwala lang ako na baka mas malaki kitain ko kasi mas mahal ang ibebenta ko (bahay at condo). After how many months, around May 2013, I joined Philam Life as a Financial Advisor kasi feeling ko that time, kailangan ko pa ng other sources of income kasi malaki pangarap ko.

For you, kung employed ka man ngayon at di ka happy sa income mo, you must already start looking for other ways to increase it. It’s either mag business ka or try other opportunities as young as possible.

I want to make memories all over the world. AND syempre kasama dyan ang pagsakay ng Roller Coasters! 😍

2) Be passionate

I cared so much what other people will say even if my family supported me. Dahil nag decide na ko not to push through looking for a job, no turning back na. So what I did, I continue hanging out with people na kasama ko sa business. Talagang detach muna ako sa mga dati kong friends para di ako ma-down sakali mang may marinig akong di maganda from them.

My first Site Orientation as a Real Estate Salesperson (Oct. 2012)

Just like what I shared in No. 1, kung ano-ano na-try kong opportunities until I found myself na match ako sa Real Estate. Dahil dyan, I’ve met a lot of people who became my friends. Sabi nila mag post lang daw ako ng ads everyday and attend training to meet more people. Araw-araw I had to wake up early at sleep late at night to post ads na naman. Tapos kinabukasan, 9AM will meet a client going Cavite. (READ FULL STORY HERE >> From Industrial Engineer to Real Estate Sales Professional (PART 6 – I made it!)) I helped people fulfilled their dreams of having their own home, and eventually started fulfilling my dreams nung lumabas na mga commissions.

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

Sabi nila, “Love what you do and do what you love.” Sa ngayon, if you cannot do what you love, start loving what you do.

For example:

Possible kasi ngayon, breadwinner ka at employed. You want to put up your dream business. However, di pa sapat yung naipon mo at kinikita mo to do that full time. All you have to do is do your job kung saan ka man employed ngayon, tapos look for other opportunities kung saan ka pwedeng magkaroon ng additional income.

Syempre there will be sacrifices. Kung before, derecho uwi ka na lang after work o kaya naman pahinga ka at nagala every weekend, sa umpisa, pass ka muna dyan. Kasi while building your business or yung bago mong pinagkakakitaan, kailangan mo talagang mag-allot ng quality time to do it (not necessarily quantity) hanggang sa tumakbo ito kahit nagbabakasyon ka.

3) Have an entrepreneurial mindset

This is an excerpt from what I’ve written in my previous blog post.

Kahit hindi ako magtrabaho, buhay naman ako because our parents and relatives can still be able to provide for us.”

“Tapos when I checked my wallet, I was shocked. Since I was not moving forward with my life, nakita ko na P500.00 na lang natitira kong pera. There I decided to just risk the P500.00 and believe na babalik din ang lahat ng ito.”

(READ FULL STORY HERE >> From Industrial Engineer to Real Estate Sales Professional (PART 3 – 2012: The Turning Point of my Life))

When you attend your training programs and you pay for it, that’s your investment for yourself. Kasi according kay Leonard C. Green, “Entrepreneurs are not risk takers. They are CALCULATED risk takers.” Hindi lang tayo basta-basta nag-te-take ng risks. Tinitimbang natin kung saan tayo mas magiging okay with minimal risk.

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

Think of ways on how you can grow your income today, whether in employment or in business, and TAKE ACTION.

4) Learn how to sell

I’m not saying here na magbenta ka lang ng physical products (or digital products) because not all people yun ang gustong gawin. But you must at least learn how to sell yourself. Syempre if gusto mong ma-promote sa work, you have to do this, or if you’re applying for a new job, gagawin mo ulit ito.

Di ba I’ve shared kanina na ayoko talagang magbenta before. Pero nung palagi ko na siyang ginagawa and I love what I do, tapos kumita pa ko ng malaki dito sa sales, naging parte na siya ng buhay ko. Araw-araw, top of mind ko, kailangan may maipost ako sa Facebook kahit isa. Hindi man laging selling yung way ng pagkakapost, basta meron. Kailangan pa-share share ka lang tapos paminsan-minsan may call to action sa baba na JOIN MY TEAM or CALL/TEXT ME NOW FOR INQUIRIES, RESERVATION AND SITE VIEWING para naman maalala nila na dyan ako connected or that’s what I currently do. Darating din ang time na lahat ng marketing efforts mo ay ma-co-convert into sales. πŸ™‚

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

If hindi mo pa nagagawang magpakilala sa Facebook na you’re selling that product or you’re offering those services, simulan mo na magpost sa timeline mo na para bang announcement to the FB world regarding what you do. Kung FB friends tayo, ila-like ko pa yan πŸ˜€ Pero promise! Malayo ang mararating nyan. Wag ng maging “secret agent”.

5) Surround yourself with people who are earning the income that you want

“You’re the average of the five people you spend most of your time with.” – Jim Rohn

Isa sa nag contribute ng mabilis kong success ay yung pag spend more time with people who are better than me in different aspects. Kaka-attend ng mga training programs sa labas, especially paid seminars, I’ve met a lot of people, we shared our stories, they shared their humble beginnings. From there, nagkaroon ako ng maraming ideas kung ano ang pwede kong i-apply sa sarili ko, sa buhay ko. A lot of times kapag nag uusap-usap kami, na-experience na nila yung current situation ko ngayon so I don’t have to reinvent the wheel. I just have to copy the effective things that they did so that I can have the same results.

Whenever na-da-down ako or I don’t know what to do, andyan lang sila lagi to lift me up when I ask for support. Through their sharing, I picked up their brains, the way they think, the way they make decisions and I learned from it.

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

Talk to 5 persons who have the results that you want (whether in health, relationship, mind/money). Get ready with your questions (because people like to share) about their journey on how they reached their current situation today. And ask 3 tips from them on how you can do it too.

6) Be willing to invest in yourself

Kasi if not now, when? Akala ko noon kailangan ko pang maging 40 years old to earn the income that I’m earning right now. Kaya totoo din talaga yung kasabihang “Your Self Worth determines Your Net Worth”. Kung magkano man ang kinikita mo ngayon, yan ang value mo as a person. Kaya if we want to grow our income, we have to continuously grow ourselves. Wag kang manghihinayang magbayad sa training, seminars or workshop kung saan ka matututo, dahil malaki ang kapalit nyan if ia-apply mo lang yung natutunan mo. πŸ™‚

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

Look for PAID training programs or seminars na gusto mong attendan.

Sakaling may FREE training na available, don’t hesitate to grab the opportunity! Libre na nga eh. You have to grow if you want to grow your income.

If you want to have P1 Million, BE A P1 MILLION LEADER. πŸ™‚

7) Be of service to others

I’ve also heard the saying, “The income that you have is directly proportional to the value that you give to other people.”

Sa field kung nasaan ako ngayon, real estate at insurance industries, sabi namin “Mission first before commission.” As we help more people build their dreams, ma-bi-build din namin ang dreams namin.

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

Always be willing to lend a helping hand to others. You may be the only person who cares enough to help.

“The measure of a man’s greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves.” – John Hagee

8) Focus

FOCUS sa goal mo to make your First Million. FOCUS sa action plans mo to achieve your goal.

CHRISTINE’S TIP:

You can allot 1 day every week to do the business. Or for a start, if possible ito sa pinasok mong business opportunity, do the 25-minute habit. Everyday, set the timer for 25 minutes and do what you have to do.

For example sa amin sa Real Estate, I have to post ads online. Within 25 minutes, don’t entertain any distractions. Ang purpose nito is for you to create a habit one step at a time. Hanggang sa lumipas ang panahon, in the future magiging part na rin ito ng sistema mo. πŸ™‚

“Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus.” – Alexander Graham Bell

There you go! As you pursue your dream of making your First Million, I’m sure there will be a lot of distractions. There will be people who are close to you who will never believe in you, who will say you cannot make it and who will put you down. But always remember No. 8, FOCUS. I’ve been there.

Kung feeling mo, na-da-down ka na naman, just go back to No. 5 so that you can be able to hear positive things again at ma-inspire ka to move forward.

See you around! πŸ™‚
